Ch-ch-changestation
Presented by jo Randerson, Steven Junil Park and Barbarian Productions
Location: Wellington Railway Station, Bunny Street.
Property partner: Kiwirail
Dates: Monday October 26 - Saturday November 14 2026
Ch-Ch-Changestation is a wānanga on the blurry distinctions between costume and fashion, bringing together professional designers from both fields and using existing pieces to create new ‘looks’, modelled by performers and possibly the general public.
For this year’s iteration they are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Urban Dream Brokerage, KiwiRail and The Green Green Room to present the work at Wellington Railway Station for 10 days.
This interactive installation draws inspiration and material from Steven’s recent exhibition The Vessel at the Dowse Art Gallery, Jo’s past projects like Brides, A Conversation and Dress Up Jam and the city’s new shared costume and props library The Green Green Room.
The installation space as a whole will permanently feature displays of costume and fashion garments. The public will enter the styling salon, where hosts will help them re-imagine their style with glow-up consultations in a comfortable environment.
From there, visitors can go into the photobooth to document their looks, and depending on the day they may have a chance to join the performers and strut their stuff on a pop up runway which will be scheduled to be set up for a super-glamorous runway show, modeled by skilled performers in a hybrid of clown, dance and catwalk style.
