Come Sew With Me is a project where Masterton local, Heather Bannister will be able to share her fascinating personal collection of vintage and antique sewing machines with the public to enable them learn how to mend, make and create their own sewing projects. Bannister uses these machines to repurpose old fabric into new uses - patches of material become quilts, skirts become bags, blankets toy bears. Bannister’s vintage machines include the Gelria from Holland, the Vickers made during World War One in England by German prisoners and vintage toy sewing machines.
