We are a Takatāpui run Art Collective based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Our soul purpose is to create and hold decolonized art spaces where creatures from our Queer and BIPOC community can feel free to express their true selves in their indigenous bodies. We have made it our mission to give our tangata spaces to thrive, explore and play.

Haus of Haututū presents: The Temp Cryptid Agency.
The Temp Cryptid Agency supports cryptids entering, exiting, or temporarily occupying the human realm, providing interdimensional transition assistance, paperwork-ish, and general support for life amongst Te Humans. Think cryptid WINZ, except haututū. Think Men in Black, but skux and indigenous.

Through workshops, worldbuilding, costume, performance and collective play, first-time world-walkers are welcomed into the agency and guided through the process of revealing, refining and completing the cryptid form that has been there all along. No previous cryptid experience required. Human logic discouraged.

OCTOBER PUBLIC PROGRAMME

World Building Workshop
Saturday 3 October | 12pm–4:30pm

Build your cryptid from the inside out. Who are they, where do they come from, what do they want, how many kutuz do they have? Ditch that human logic and cook up something from your puku-manawa.

Clothing Alteration Workshop
Sunday 4 October | 12pm–4:30pm

Find your cryptid form. Have a tutu with clothing, features and physical details, then alter and steeze up your creature.

High Tea [CRYPTID EDITION]
Saturday 10 October | 5:30pm–10pm

Chuck on your skinsuit and enter our world. A chance to let your cryptid loose with high tea [potluck styles], open mic, storytelling, performance and kanikani.
